Chemical warehouse on fire near Houston

PASADENA, Texas (AP) — A huge fire in a chemical warehouse produced clouds of dense smoke Tuesday and firefighters warned residents of the area outside Houston to stay indoors.

There were no immediate reports of injuries and authorities said they did not know what caused the fire.

Balls of flame and black smoke were visible for miles from the Controlled Solutions warehouse, about 20 miles southeast of downtown Houston.

The warehouse contained an assortment of chemicals, including pesticides, and combustible materials such as wood and paper, officials said.

Firefighters were called from neighboring departments and oil refineries to help battle the blaze, which broke out shortly before daybreak.

A dense column of black smoke drifted toward the southeast, prompting firefighters to urge residents to stay indoors in parts of Pasadena, El Lago, Taylor Lake Village and Seabrook.

Putin Names Russia's New Foreign Minister

MOSCOW (AP) -- President Vladimir Putin completed a Cabinet reshuffle Tuesday naming U.N. envoy Sergey Lavrov as Russia's foreign minister and slashing the number of posts in the top-heavy government nearly in half, from 30 to 17.

The announcement, coming ahead of Sunday's presidential election that Putin is expected to win easily, was apparently intended to strengthen his popularity by demonstrating his intention to reduce red tape.

UCLA to Be Sued Over Sale of Body Parts

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Allegations that some cadavers intended for medical research at UCLA were sawed to pieces and the parts illegally sold for profit has caused at least one donor to change her mind.

Shirley Williams had planned to donate her body to the University of California at Los Angeles after she died, just as her husband had done two years ago.

"It's devastating," said Williams, of Thousand Oaks, whose husband's body was donated after he died from complications of a stroke. "I just find it so difficult that someone would put money higher than the use of these bodies for research."

Relatives of donors sued the university Monday, even as officials apologized and pledged to repair UCLA's cadaver program. UCLA attorney Louis Marlin denied the university knew that donated bodies were being cut up and sold to others.

Sniper Killer Muhammad to Be Sentenced

MANASSAS, Va. (AP) -- As he prepared to sentence sniper mastermind John Allen Muhammad, a judge Tuesday rejected a defense request for a new trial.

Attorneys for Muhammad based their motion on letters that Muhammad's teen-age accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, wrote to another inmate in the Fairfax County jail.

Defense lawyers said they were unaware of the letters before trial and said they show Malvo acted and thought independently and was not under the sway of Muhammad, 43.

Prosecutors said the letters added nothing to the case, and Circuit Judge LeRoy F. Millette Jr. agreed.

Major Fire at Pasadena (Texas) pesticide plant forces residents to take shelter (chemical fumes)

PASADENA - Firefighters are battling a massive fire at a Pasadena chemical warehouse this morning. Nearby residents and Clear Creek schoolchildren are being kept inside, and drivers are being urged to avoid Genoa Red Bluff Road.

Bayport Industries also issued a shelter-in-place order for its facilities and employees about 8 a.m.

Although Control Solutions employs about 50 people, only a manager was present when he heard a bang and discovered the fire around 5:15 a.m. No injuries or illnesses were reported.

Firefighters, however, have to keep their distance because of the toxic fumes.

Quite nice timing and coincidence considering the diver reports from there recently.

Also, a very nice cover for an exhaustive search of the harbor.

I mean, they shut the harbor and airport activity there initially.

It's seemingly unrrelated events like this that, IMO, give hints to the hidden war happening, especially in conjunction with the Florida and Hudson River divers.

Farewell Message from Osama Bin Laden

To my dear brothers and sisters, the militants in the call of jihad in the Islamic world, it is time for me to bid you farewell. As I told you last year, I will be going to martyr myself in the belly of the eagle in a few short days now. I understand that this statement has been widely misinterpreted as indicating that I shall go to my death.

In many ways this is true, thanks be to Allah. I have decided to give up my worldly existence as the leader of the Jihad of the Muslims, and instead I will be going to live in a small town in New Jersey. My new friend George W. Bush has assured me that they will consider allowing my friends to visit if they forsake the call of jihad and agree to live in peace with the Americans and British. (If you need to continue the fight, there is always the French with the blasphemous ban of the hijab for schoolgirls.)

I will be joined by my good friend and colleague Abu Osama Al Otaibi, who has done such a wonderful job in our public relations campaign. You know him on the internet as Sahab Intstitute or Cloud Enterprises. Abu Osama has accepted a job with the presidential campaign of John Kerry. We stand this day at a historical moment, decisive in the history of our glorious Iraqi people. During this month, holy month of Muharram, and the memory of the painful attacks, renewed in the lands of Karbala and Kadhimiyah, painful events for our people, who are longing for freedom and liberty. Allah Akbar this is your friend Daleel al Mujahid from the internet and Yahoogroups. I also visit my brothers at Its (Whats?) Happening too. For the last months I have been the early warning system for the Americans about what Al Qaeda is planning to do. I think I have done my job correctly and honorably, even when those crazy Americans send me crazy emails.

Those Americans are really crazy. They need to go learn the Arabic language so they can understand what our prophet and our Quran says to them. I tell them many times (go and learn Arabic for a difference)!! They do not listen.

Is good they didn't listen to the warnings I gave I guess cause they would have spend a lot of money on hotels and stuff. I don't know why they didn't cooperate, I just wanted to cut down on the crowds so I could do my shopping for the holidays and get a window seat on the airplane.

Anyway I told the Americans about Abu Khattab and how he is called Al Battar and is real man.

So I think they may be understood a little. I do need to ask if anyone has need of a good man for a job like the one I do for Al Qaeda and Sheikh Osama can you please email me at caveofdarkness@yahoo.com.
