We also saw the movie last night. Our church bought 1000 tickets that sold out in 5 days.
The movie was totally awesome. We sat speechless at the end, and could hardly discuss it for an hour.
It is brutal, yes, but not gratuitously or excessively. It is also the most passionate love story, and the most beautifully filmed movie I have seen in ages. I will be seeing it again. But not today.
Two words for Mel Gibson.

Most of our local churches have prebooked entire theaters for this movie.. All of the threaters in the Houston area will be filled tonight, and soon they will be sold out for this weekend.. everyone wanting to see it soon, should get their tickets early..
