Never mind "The Passion of the Christ" will likely prove a hit, Mel taking a hit from Hollywood types.
One tells the New York Daily News he's all but a marked man. Directors will avoid him. And one goes so far as to say audiences will move on from him. No more "Lethal Weapon" sequels. No more "Signs."

Is there anyone here who works in Hollywood? What are people really saying about Gibson in the chit-chat before story conferences, at the Perrier coolers, or while drinking their decalf lattes? Do they hate him? Do they admire all the money he's about to make? Do they say after all this is over he won't be able to get a job parking cars in Hollywood, let alone staring in a movie?
I must say - nicely done (I am golf-clapping), for your entire post. You have a knack (good) for words. This whole Passion thing is so cool, so emotional, so unexpected (even with the hype). We'll talk.
