Senator to Tour New York Farm Day Exhibit Showcasing New York Foods and Wines

NORWALK, Conn., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Reed Exhibitions, the New York State Restaurant Association and the New York Wine & Grape Foundation are pleased to announce that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will be visiting the New York Farm Day Pavilion at the upcoming 11th annual International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York. The event is taking place March 14-16, 2004 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. (EDITOR'S NOTE: Specific information on the date and time of Senator Clinton's visit will be available soon.)

During her visit to the trade show and conference, Senator Clinton will have an opportunity to visit the New York Farm Day Pavilion, which will offer over 1,200 square feet of table-top exhibits featuring New York farm-fresh products and award-winning wines. For the past two years, Senator Clinton has hosted New York Farm Day in Washington, DC.

"We are thrilled that New York Farm Day will be held in the heart of New York City," said Senator Clinton. "Agriculture is a major part of New York's economy, contributing over $3 billion and nearly 1 million jobs. From the eastern tip of Long Island to the Great Lakes on the west, New York has thousands of farms, over 190 wineries, and tens of thousands of restaurants, giving us much to celebrate."

New York Farm Day is organized according to the State's major wine- producing regions - Long Island, the Hudson Valley, the Finger Lakes and Lake Erie (Chautauqua) - as well as North Country. Each region will have a "Farm Table" showcasing local agricultural products and a "Wine Table" offering award-winning wines to match the foods.

"We greatly appreciate Senator Clinton's strong support of New York agriculture," said Jim Trezise, President of the Statewide New York Wine & Grape Foundation, which helps organize the event. "We are thrilled that the Senator will be able to visit this exhibit at the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show, giving us the chance to showcase that New York has some of the best foods, and wines in the world."

In addition to the New York Farm Day exhibit, the 11th annual International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York will host over 700 exhibiting companies. The 20,000 restaurant and foodservice industry professionals who will attend the March event will have a chance to visit 10 special focus product pavilions and see nearly 1,000 product lines. Product Diversity is the theme for this year's annual convention that has been called one of the Top 5 food expositions in the country by The Food Network.

The International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York is sponsored by the New York State Restaurant Association, a non-profit association of more than 7,000 foodservice operators and suppliers working together to promote a better and more responsive foodservice industry. The association maintains offices in Albany, New York City, Long Island and Western New York, and is composed of twelve chapters.

The event is produced and managed by Reed Exhibitions, the world's leading organizers of trade and public shows with a current portfolio of 450 events servicing 45 industries in 11 key sectors in 26 countries across five continents. GREEEEEEEaaat!
Her hieniousness celebrates the NY agriculture that is being shutdown due to TOO HIGH taxes.
Dairy farmers are being run out of business because taxes are too high, and they cannot make enough to support their farms.
The only thing still going somewhat strong near my area is teh onion farm.
But that's only because most of it's produce seems to be eported.
GREAT.
