He didn't say he wouldn't accept the VP slot with W.

It's probably fair to say that Zell Miller will not be the keynote speaker at this fall's Dem Convention.

Zell is a Georgia treasure, all right. He was in fine form this morning. But I don't know why Imus was asking him if he thinks Cheney will stay on the ticket. The only reason Cheney won't be on the ticket, is if Cheney decides to take himself off.

I wish Imus had asked him about Max Cleland. Cleland was on local radio this week-end, supporting Kerry, but oh my still using that old quote to insult Bush, as if he wrote it himself , "like a mackeral in the moonlight, shines and smells at the same time". I guess Kerry thinks Cleland will win him Georgia votes in the general election......not gonna happen!!

The only reason Cheney won't be on the ticket, is if Cheney decides to take himself off.

And that is what I think he will do. It's a long way to November and I believe two things are at play: Cheney wants out (on his own terms) and Rove knows they may have to counter a Kerry/Edwards or a Edwards/Hillary ticket. IMO, that can only be done with W looking like his own man (Cheney was needed in '00 to blunt the 'W is not ready for Prime Time' charge). Rudy, Colin or Condi is my bet.

Of course, I reserve the right to be wrong.

Didn't miss much except, imo, the non-denial denial when the I-Man asked him about the #2 spot. YaYa is right, he's a treasure.

He did, however, get in a good jab at Imus for even thinking about backing Ketchup.

I heard that, and Imus blubbered something about how he changes his mind daily.

Which is why no one should take him seriously about endorsements. He is serious about entertainment.

Imus of course starts blabbering about how anyone could possibly hold him to promises he made weeks ago.

Zell is a god!! He thoroughly hosed down Kerry's voting record in the Senate. He stated that of the 360 bills Kerry proposed, 9 passed, 6 were for naming buildings and bridges, 2 for marine sanctuaries, and one for a women's work issue, IIRC).

But hey, he was in Vietnam!! LOL!! Apparently, that is his only accomplishment, according to Zell!!

Let's see those Navy records, Kerry!! What are you hiding??

Until mentioned, I really hadn't considered Rudy for Bush's VP, but you know what? It does make sense. I like it!!

I was all for Condi replacing Cheney if Cheney bowed out, but that was just for bragging rights over Hillary being the first woman to win a national campaign. But realistically, I'm not sure Condi would bring in black, women, or even reasonable, moderate, undecided voters. Rudy would bring in all sorts of voters pre-disposed to vote against Bush.

Zell was great this morning! FYI … Imus brought up the VP thing as there was an article in some paper this morning speculating about it and mentioned Zell as a possible replacement. Zell's response to the question about whether he would take the VP slot if Bush offered it was priceless … something to the effect of it would force him to reconsider his endorsement of Bush. LOL!

He totally anhillated Kerry and the Democrats. It was a thing of beauty.

I think Rudy would be a terrible choice...the Christian right is up in arms already, you throw a NE liberal Republican like Rudy on the ticket and alot of those people are really gonna be gone for good.

Zell is the only honest politican in DC. If GW ever wanted to bring a calm nature to the capital...Zell would be a terrific VP.

Ah, Cheney removing himself from the ticket would be seen as nothing but a forced out and the media would heap a ton of negative press on Bush & Co.

Cheney WILL be on this ticket. those that seek to have Cheney gone only do so because they know it would help the enemies of Bush & Co.
