I'm speaking in the larger sense, in that it was a battle in the war against Communism.
Or do you think we lost the war against Communism?

We eventually won the face-off with Communism, but Viet Nam has to be tallied in the "battles lost" collumn. And the fault lines it sent through the US have not yet been completely assimilated. We are still feeling aftershocks thirty years later.

we won war on communism , thanks to the build up by RONNIE and his strong polices + the Korean WAR + Ronnie's support of freedom fighters in Afganistan and Central America..
and we didn't win against communism by the war in NAM
(South NAM fell to commies...didn't it?)
Also, in the 70's after the nam war , communism was flourshing in central america and some to many parts of africa /europe/asia and central america
