The reason this has happened is that America has spawned a whole generation of con-artists that have no interests in the future of the USA and are only interested in "getting theirs".

If George Washington had felt this way he would have sold his allegiance to the crown and provided the name of every Son of Liberty plotting to succeed from the rule of Britain...

Unfortunately, most Americans are too dumbed-down, apathatic and brain-washed to take back our gov't. from the "Children of Privilege" and restore the once Great Republic envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

The average voter seems happy to feed at whatever leftovers the DNC or GOP elites in power throw into the trough...

It's more than one generation; but you are right in calling them 'con artists'. Most of the problems -- IMHO -- can be directly laid at the feet of the passage of the Sixteenth Ammendement and the resultant 'regulations' the bureaucrats have saddled us with. Everyone laughed, but Leona Helmsley was exactly correct -- We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes.
