"Have these people never seen sand in the sky before."
As mentioned, this intensity has never been observed before. BTW, last October it was the first time the aurora borealis was seen at 40° N, ever since the year of fate, 1938.
Check at the end here

Tell me is the AB observable during the day? I always thought it's a night thing. I live way south and have never seen the AB. It's on my list of things I want to experience someday. Thanks for the link I will check it out when I have more time.

By the way I know that the countries that are currently experiencing this sand-AB, who know what sky phenomena, are the same one who killed off all their old people by being stupid. That was our old friends the French. All these countries did suffer greatly from their last heat wave and they too lost several of their senior citizens. They actually tried to deal with the problem unlike the French. You know that has been months ago and when I think about it still makes me mad. Of course it does not take too much to make me mad at the French. But that one will live in my memory forever. Again I will check out the link you so kindly provided it's just that time is in way short supply right now and I know if I start reading I will get WAY into it. Thank you think of me.
