AT LEAST FIVE KILLED IN JERUSALEM BUS EXPLOSIOM

At least five people were killed and thrity injured on Sunday after a bus exploded in the German Colony neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem Police Chief Miki Levy said that the blast, which occurred at 8:40 A.M., took place in the middle of the bus and that there are fatalities.

The bus line was reported to be number 14 which runs from Talpiot to Beit Hakerem.

The explosion took place while the bus was standing at a street light.

Magen David Adom Spokesman Avi Zohar told Channel Two News that the explosion took place at a bus stop opposite the Inbal Hotel on Jabotinsky Street in Jerusalem.

The wounded were evacuated to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Karem, Hadassah Hospital at Mt Scopus, Bikur Holim and to the Sha'are Zedek Medical Center.

The explosion took place near the Liberty Bell Park which is situated close to the Prime Minister's and the President's official residences.

Security officials estimated that the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber who boarded the bus.

Resuce services are at the scene.

Elazar Shtrum, an eyewitness to the blast said that the bus is totally wrecked and that glass was everywhere.

On January 29, 11 people were killed after a suicide bomber blew himself up on bus no. 19., in the most recent terror attack in the capital.

There was a conference at a hotel near by, a witness was at that place. Moshe Yaalon, Israel's top General, was at the hotel at the time, and they were going to go view the fence and take a tour.
