Why? I listened to the first 10 minutes of the presentation, which was all I could take, but I did hear the part you refer to. I think he was referring to the Vietnam War, not the USA. I was in college during the Vietnam War protests. I knew a lot of the radicals and SDS types. They may have harbored the same hatred toward our country as the radicals do today, but that hatred was not vocalized as openly. I think it's highly unlikely that Kerry would have so viciously denigrated the US in such a public forum at that time.
