Frisco Mayor Ousts Schwarzenegger
(2004-02-21) -- San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom today ousted California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger after the governor tried to order the mayor to stop violating state law by granting marriage licenses to homosexual couples.
"I have impeached Gov. Schwarzenegger and found him guilty," said Mayor Newsom. "He must vacate the governor's office and residence immediately."
In related news, the mayor replaced the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals with a panel of federal judges who are committed to accomplishing from the bench what liberals have failed to do through Congress and state legislatures.

I have nothing against gay people marrying. A gay man has an equal right to marry a woman as a heterosexual man. The same applies for a lesbian woman marrying a man. However, gays should not have any special rights. A gay man has no more right to marry another man than I do to polygamy.

Poor Arnold is sympathetic to gays and really doesn't want to do anything about this. He's your typical LIBERALtarian who is fiscally conservative and socially LIBERAL. Even for a Catholic ... his acceptance of this is obscene and that is what he is doing with his NOT taking action.

does anyone know how much money SF has made off of these trick??Someone posted on another thread yesterday that it was $250,000+. That ain't a whole lot of money. Probably didn't even cover cost of keeping gov't open to perform these unions.

Amendment XIV Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
The homers have been denied the right to marry with due process of the law. They are protected under the established laws to marry as defined by due process.

Some conservatives have said that Republican President Bush, who is running for re-election this year, will push to amend the U.S. constitution to ban gay marriage. Sen. John Kerry, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination to run against Bush, is from Massachusetts. Notice something interesting here? All they say about Kerry is that he is from Massachussetts. Nothing about his position. Very stark omission!

This little announcement is making the email rounds among the loony left (I saw it on a college alumni discussion board):
Today a coworker of mine had a thought to send flowers to a random couple waiting in line at SF city hall. He called a florist and they agreed to do it. He told them to deliver to any couple -- it didn't matter who -- standing in line to get married, with his blessing. The card will read simply "With love, from Minneapolis, Minnesota."
Once they understood, they were very touched and thought it was a great idea. He told another co-worker who did the same thing. And now we want to start a movement. Wouldn't that be cool if people from all over the country, gay, straight and otherwise, started sending flowers to the people waiting in line to get married.
Call it it Flowers from the Heartland. Call it whatever you want, but help us get this off the ground. Call Flowers on the Bay at 888-217-9119 and order a bouquet to be delivered tomorrow at noon. And Tell all of your friends to do it.
Because straight or gay, we believe and we know many people who believe, support and celebrate the right to marriage. And we'd like to show it. We'd like to see all of the people standing in line with flowers of support from all over the country.
PS. Flowers on the Bay seems like a small shop and might get overwhelmed if this really did catch on. I have a feeling that any Bay-Area flower shop, perhaps even doing FTD through your local florist, could work.

I am a Narcissist!
Since the law now appears to be whatever you want, and since I am a narcissist deeply in love with myself, can I go to California and marry myself? Otherwise that would imply discrimination against singly love enable people. I want my rights upheld!

I think most, if not all, of the people that stayed at work over last weekend volunteered their time.
