Can anyone read the item just above the Apache helicopter entry? It's pretty faded.

Did some research, and it looks like the MOPP chemical suits and upgraded M17 chemical masks were being enhanced and upgraded.

So your guess makes the most sense. Can you imagine our forces in 1991 facing Saddam in Kuwait without improved chemical protection? Let alone 2003.
