thanks for that personal perspective....keep it up, if you can.....

that is what I love about FR....we have so many lurkers and posters, we can always get a close-in report from people that live near by .....

It sounds very plausible that it was a burglary, rape type situation that was interrupted....horrible at the start, even worse at the end of it...

shouldn't there be tire tracks of some sort?

and in most cases, a person always leaves some dna track behind ( except in the Westerfield case where there was none, incredibly)...

Good thought, too. Hum. What do you think about the idea someone could have parked there and walked through whatever kind of terrain we have out there. We need more info on the area and how it looks, don't we?

Great map, thanks. It does help to get the area in our minds. Do you think that Fire Department would be on Vaughn Road, or where?

"Last night the TV News interviewed Benny. He appears to be very uneducated or possibly "simple-minded". I doubt he has the ability to pull anything like this off.""

It appears that "Benny" equals "Ernest" the adopted son left out of the will....

If Benny is "slow" then he could have been left out of state/federal programs that provide some of his subsistance..if he was given property or money from an inheritance.....

.it was probably a wise legal decision to leave him out of the will....

Okay. So, we can place the half filled wine glass as belonging with the Friday evening meal. Makes sense. Makes more sense with leaving the remained in the glass instead of emptying it, with her being so weary. She just simply set it down and walked away. Hum. Looking more like whatever happened started that Saturday MORNING, then? I wish we had the photos of the inside of the house posted here. I don't know how to do that.

They gave each of the dogs an article of clothing worn by a missing family member, usually it is one they have reason to believe was recently worn. The dogs will follow the strongest scent but that does not necessarily mean the most recent. Tracking dogs are amazing to watch, some can follow a trail as old as 12 - 18 months, undergone all kinds of weather conditions and that has been heavily traveled.

"For the first time we got to go inside the house where 27 year-old Michael Hargon, his 29 year-old wife Rebecca and their four year-old son James Patrick, disappeared from last saturday.

Bill Hirtz, father of the missing woman gave us a tour."

In one article I read recently, some crime expert made the statement that he thought it was a huge mistake for LE to allow even the family back into the house while the investigation was ongoing. Now I read that family members are giving people "tours" through the house? This seems really strange to me, particularly in light of the fact that LE is still removing evidence from the house, such as a basket of papers this morning.

YEA. Let me be the first to encourage you, but please do be very careful. Remember what we are dealing with, and don't take any chances, please. I'll be waiting to get your report. :) Thanks, in advance.

Well, it does seem as if we can rule out burglary. The Police have stated 'nothing is missing from the home.' They've stated cash and jewelry was left out in the open and wasn't taken. Plus, this man owned guns, and they weren't taken. Jewelry and guns are easily pawned.

Rape, I hadn't thought of, but looking back, the news reports state the Police took the sheets from the beds. Oh Dear.

If my theory is correct that whoever got into a vehicle at the vol. fire dep't then the only logical conclusion is that they parked behind that building to conceal their presence and walk to the house. Mississippi is hilly but not mountainous so traversing that distance would not be much of a problem barring thick over growth. Since it is farm country then I would not expect much over growth.

Oh, dear. I didn't know they'd determined it was her blood in the house. That explains why her father kept using past tense when talking with Greta Van Susteren on FoxNews one night earlier this week. His wife, standing right beside him, spoke of them in the present tense. They also said their wallets were still in the house.

Yes, there are some included in the articles I posted. Interior shots. We need all of those we can get, don't we?
Gives a better idea of where this began, what area of the home?

Yes, there should be tire tracks, if he drove up to their house? Hum, wonder what sort of drive way they have? There wouldn't be tire tracks if he parked away from the home and walked the family out of the house and to his/their parked vehicle.

Woo-hoo. Don't forget to look at the terrain around that fire dept. BUT, above all else, PLEASE be careful. Whoever did this is still out there. (as far as we know)

"Okay, it makes sense to place her cleaning up, or getting started on cleaning her kitchen/home. Her Father was told it was HER blood they found. Thoughts? Anyone?"

Wow.....that's the first I've heard about the blood being identified as Rebecca's. Was all of the blood hers, or just that from a certain location?

As for the dirty dishes and the wedding rings, I think that would be an issue for someone who is familiar with Rebecca's personal habits. Some women wear their rings all the time, others don't. Some women are good housekeepers, some aren't. Without knowing her personal habits, I wouldn't want to speculate on the significance of those things.

FoxNews just said they've extended the search with the dogs to 3 counties, Madison, Holmes and one other one that I didn't hear clearly.
