Hi Tonk. Oregon is beautiful and the people who settled it were a hardy people. It's a shame it has to be ruined by the hippy rejects from CA. I couldn't live there and put up with them. There wouldn't be enough good people like you to counter them.

I've been to Oregon, dutchess. It is beautiful, but I had a feeling of melancoly or sadness while there. When I was traveling so much I would get a "feeling" from each state. Oregon felt sad to me. Besides our drummer left his expensive drum cymbals in Portland and we didn't discover it until we were halfway to Kansas.

Oops, I haven't read the whole thread yet. LOL You were the first one I thought of when I read it though. I WILL come see you. I promise.
My grandma had a bottle of rain water on her kitchen shelf when I was growing up. She had a lable on it, "Pure Oregon Rain". She collected it on one of her trips out there. I loved to smell that bottle of rain water. It smelled like pine for decades. I wanted it when she died, but it was gone. Don't know what happened to it.

Of course not. It's Oregon. Would I send you a West Va. gift? Well, actually I would, but since it's Oregon day at the Finest, I was going with the program.

Hi Nan. Thanks for the sweet words and the cute beaver graphic. Glad you were able to make it this evening.
I think you and I may be the only one here. It got quiet all of sudden.

Another excellent state coverage, Mama_Bear.
The content is "not too hot" and "not too cold,"
but in your typical bear-fashion, "Just right!!"..:))
(as is everything you do)
Now here is a photograph of when I was at the ...
Ezra Meeker at the Dedication of
the End of the Old Oregon Trail, 1906
...no, wait!! - shucks, I never got west of Montana's Big Sky country, and the Rockies all the way down the spine..:(
(and I'm not really THAT old!)
In Montana, though, I was within 26 miles of the headwaters of the Missouri River, surprisingly narrow there, the highway paralleling it.
I *swear* I *saw* the ghost of the vessel with Lewis and Clark aboard, just before they had to get out and walk the rest of the way to the Pacific!
I would love to see Oregon after all the wonderful PR from Tonk and Sam and others who have seen it....

Well, SAM is still here I think. He comes out of the woods every once in awhile to give me a smack and then he disappears. Wolves are like that you know.
