Yeah, just like campaign finance "reform" wasn't going to pass Congress. Or if passed by Congress, wouldn't get signed into law by Bush. Or if signed into law by Bush, wouldn't be upheld as constitutional by the Supreme Court.
Here's the bottom line: Bush proposed this amnesty piece of crap---not anyone in Congress, not anyone in the electorate. Despite all the heat we've been giving him here in the GOP base, he ain't backin' off it. Unless he does back off it, he's losing my vote. And plenty others.
The powers controlling our destiny behind the scenes just won't give up until the American economy and culture is thoroughly decimated and all remnants of it's power or influence are melted into the South American government pit of corruption.
BTW: I think the numbers used in this article are low to the tune of millions. Thre are many more illegal Mexican migrants in this country (under the unofficial protection of our gubmint) than just 8 million. California alone has at least half that many. Los Angeles alone probably approaches a million. I know that in 1992 (twelve years ago), California was having to spend over one BILLION dollar$ on additional education expenses just in L.A. for illegal migrant children.
Speaking of that, isn't California facing historic "Armegeddon" proportion level spending cuts.
Hmmmm...
It really isn't a distortion. Read the article and tell me what resolves the author's concerns if not the deportation of all Mexicans who may be pawns of the agenda he claims. And it isn't the President who is a liar on this, rather it's those who distort what he has said and claim it to be an actual piece of legislation. There are some interesting bills that are being formulated in Congress that begin to address this problem. It is not partisan to take a wait and see attitude or to look for the legislation that one could actually support or reject, it's realistic.
