That's a point that I don't hear often enough. They have as much right as you and I to marry. Marriage is the union of a man and a woman, and there's no law preventing any homosexual from marrying someone of the opposite sex. Now, they may choose not to, just as I've chosen not to, as a heterosexual. That's life.
I was screaming this at my radio. We DO have equal rights. That the rights they have don't make them happy, is not a good enough reason to change something so fundamental to society.
If I were in charge of the universe, the first thing I would do is nullify all legal rights and obligations gained by cohabitating heterosexuals. If you don't make the commitment, you shouldn't get the benefit OR pay the consequences. That, obviously, would mean children conceived outside wedlock lose legal protection. It would be a damn shame, but it is consistent and might bring some restraint to our citizens.
