It's time to downsize many areas of state government that have become "bloated" and ineffective, Republican candidate for governor Mitch Daniels said today.
Daniels unveiled the first of what he said would be several policy stances aimed at reforming state government during a news conference in a restaurant overlooking the Statehouse. He said it is time to eliminate some of the roughly 200 state boards and commissions -- which oversee various professions -- and many of the middle managers collecting a state paycheck.

Kernan led Daniels 49-36 in the polls a month ago, which is a decent showing considering most people still didn't/don't know Daniels.

Mitch is running a darn good race and is on a SECOND campaign tour of Indiana's 92 counties in his campaign RV.

Well, we're voting for Daniels...we got pretty disgusted seeing former Governor O'Bannon and now Kernan running this state right into the ground...there has been so much corruption under their administration, it's not even funny anymore....billions of money being siphoned off by corruption and hiring state employees with criminal records....they can't keep their own political houses in order, how in the heck could they think they can run the state?
