[history]
Responding to a string of racially charged incidents and student demands, University of Louisville officials held an emotional two-hour campus meeting yesterday and said they would study whether they are allowed to ban the Ku Klux Klan from school grounds.

I am not a Klan supporter, but don't they have a right to free speech as well? They are handing out fliers. If those fliers are offensive, don't take one. Don't confront them, that only fuels their fire.
Freedom to hate is allowed as long as no physical violence is committed. Some people hate other people and it's not the government's job to stop it, if no other act is committed. You can't change a heart with a law.

Racial separation is acceptable as long as it is pushed by minorities. Examples: separate black housing on university campuses; separate summer programs in engineering for minorities; black student organizations. As long as the KKK group is not committing or advocating violence, they have a free speech/free association right to be there.

These radicals at the University of Louisville (not the Klan, but the
other radicals) believe in the theory of "freedom of speech; just watch what you say."
They're all about tolerance on that campus, you know. When I was there at U of L (from 1991-1995), I received death threats from the campus gay group and had conservative bumper stickers ripped off my car, as well as vandalism to the car. Great people, those "open-minded" folks.
