Well yeah, had he been a conservative the obit would have mentioned how lovable he was despite his extremist radical views.

I Agree, but since this MOB connection with Mayor Daley's trucking outfit I am sure he was riding that pretty hard, it seems pretty strange plus carbon monoxide

Another thing. Steve's columns were rife with accepting urban legends as fact when they were totally bogus. He did little if any fact checking.When he was still with the Trib I brought to his attention errors of fact two or three times. He neither acknowledged nor corrected them.
Having said that, may he rest in peace.
