Asked what he did to repay the money, Kerry's campaign said Wednesday he had donated $13,000 to charity two days before the guilty plea. Kerry's campaign said Kerry's actions had nothing to do with the campaign contributions.What does that mean?

I think it means they had advanced warning of the guilty plea and expect to say THAT MONEY was given to charity... after all, if you had illegal money and gave it to charity would you still go to jail?? (yes..)
