The President met with Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in the Oval Office of the White House to discuss regional security and diplomatic issues. (Geography refresher: Tunisia is in North Africa, borders eastern Algeria and is SW of Italy, across the Mediterranean; the CIA wrote recently, "Tunisia has taken a moderate, non-aligned stance in its foreign relations.")
Laura Bush visited students and educators at Limerick Elementary School in the Canoga Park area of Los Angeles, promoting literacy. Mrs. Bush encouraged students to read more than they watch television.
And on a "know your opponents" note: the democrats continue to run in Circles of Confusion, today's version of Dante's Divine Comedy: The Inferno.
Enjoy your Dose of W, and welcome to Sanity Island!

***I have often said this before on other threads. In any political confrontation between friends, it is always the democrats who start it. I deal with this with family and friends. It is ALWAYS the democrats.***
That is SO true! I can only assume that at some point in their lives they became democrats and then never bothered to learn anything more. Except that as democrats they read what Hillary et al have to say and think, "YES, I'm a Dem, and I BELIEVE."
It's pathetic!

It was 40+ degrees here today and sunny! But rain and snow on the way tomorrow. It was so nice to run errands without a coat! Lots of our snow melted, too.
As my dear mother says, "Every day of winter is one day closer to spring." :-)

Buy a couple of copies of Zell Miller's Book and Dick Morris, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.......They are both dems and they will read the books.....The books certainly have opened a few shut eyes around here....I've converted more with those two books without opening my mouth....Loaners, presents, how ever you can get them in their hands.
(I sometimes think they ask questions because they really are not happy with their party and do want to hear the other side) The books give them an out to agree with a member of their party and still have a point of view consistent with their conservative values. Now my "D" friends state they will never vote for a liberal "D" at the national level.

***Isn't it disgusting how they put political gamesmanship above national security? ***
YES! It's hard to believe people can really be so shortsighted and selfish.

SWEET LAURA called Terry McAuliff a liar on ABC Evening News tonight. Terry Moran (WH liberal Reporter) interviewed her and she was not happy about McAuliffe and Democrats LYING about her husband's military service.
The audio went off and could not hear the end of the interview. Peta Jennings said they would rerun it tomorrow since the audio went out. Laura was REALLY fisty.

OK! He certainly is that! AND MUCH MORE......
Got to hug two of our young service men since Sunday....
One has just return....His wife decided not to "wait" for him.....
The second has just been deployed....Hugged him at the funeral home...His father died suddenly with a heart attack......
They have so much more than their "duty" on their plates right now....please say a couple of extra prayers for 'my kids'.

At a Bank or even a Mail Boxes, Etc., which I guess is now UPS, you must show a valid ID to wire money anywhere. I sometimes wire my mortgage payment from No. VA to CA when I've forgotten to mail the check out in time. From what I've been told, any money, wired anywhere, requires a valid ID and they always want a Driver's License.
See now why Matricular Consular cards are such a bad idea? If they have them, currently Banks will accept them to wire money home. In fact, Bank of America has an TV ad I've seen, bragging that they've made this process of wiring money to Mexico - specifically mentioned in the ad - easier. I'm considering closing my account with them. But since I'm moving shortly, I'll do it then. They will not get my business after I've moved.
I agree with this bill. I'll write a letter to the sponsor of the bill tomorrow and congratulate him on it.

altura, it took me many, many, many years to learn this, but anyone who just keeps getting the digs in is NOT a friend. AND they are often the ones who make you feel that they NEED you.
