I read where Perle was calling for the removal of Tenet over the intelligence problems. I think there's have a word for that.

Ah BUchannan wants Fortress America but doesn't want to recognize the truth of us being at war...it is the Islamofascists against the rest of the world. The reason we haven't been attacked recently is because we are fighting else where to keep them disrupted and diminshed...I gave up on old Pat a while ago

"Fear is what Perle and his co-author David Frum are peddling to stampede America into serial wars. Just such fear-mongering got us into Iraq, though, we have since discovered, Iraq had no hand in 9/11, no ties to al-Qaeda, no weapons of mass destruction, no nuclear program, and no plans to attack us. Iraq was never “the clear and present danger” the authors insist she was."

Pat Buchanan is a clueless idiot,

For they are not only losing their hold on power, they are losing their grip on reality.

This is rather like having Helen Keller refer to you, dismissively, as "nearsighted."

Good grief.

Gee Pat's out there playing Copperhead again.

We need to clean the whole mess up, not pull back and show weakness. 9/11 was no different than Pearl Harbor, and if anything we've shown commendable restraint.

Just ask folks in Tokyo, Kobe, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki what we did in response to Pearl Harbor...

You'll never guess where Pat points his finger.

With the end of the Cold War, an alliance with Israel has ceased to be central to U.S. interests. Indeed, our reputation as armorers and allies of Israel only damages us as Sharon rampages through the West Bank and Gaza walling off Arab land and denying to Palestinians that very right of self-determination we Americans espouse. Sharon is making hypocrites of us, and we are cowards for permitting it.

To the neocons, however, Zionism is second nature. They cannot conceive of a foreign policy that is good for America that does not entail absolute solidarity with Israel. They are dangerously close to imbibing the poisonous brew that drove Jonathan Pollard to treason: If it is good for Israel, it cannot be bad for America.

"Yup... it's the Jews.

Please check your spelling. Isn't the official FreeRepublic spelling "J-O-O-S"?

I guess Buchanan is a "Paleoconservative" as opposed to a "Neoconservative". I guess I must have missed the 'passing of the guard'. //not//

Looks like Patsy's been hanging around with Raimondo for too long, he's picked up "the-more-words-I-excrete-onto-a-page-the-smarter-I-am" disease.

No telling what else he caught from Justin.

Maybe he'll show up at his next press conference in a dress.

The guru’s reputation, however, does not survive a reading.

Neither does yours, Pat.

What do you think are the chances An End to Evil will be adopted as our post-Iraq foreign policy? IMO literally zilch, at least before Bush's reelection, which in itself is far from certain.

But I agree on one point: the "neocons" are not conservatives on the majority of issues. They judge patriotism by how willing we are to invade other countries, not how willing we are to keep jobs at home.

Most Freepers have a low opinion of Buchanan - that hardly means pseudo-cons like Perle & Frum are popular here.
