Nikita Dean burned out.... wow and only two months ago the media crowned him as the Democratic nominee. Actually, that was before Saddam Hussein was captured. After that, the wheels went off his anti-war bandwagon and he never recovered his once seemingly unassailable momentum for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Not only did Dean's collapse happen when Saddam was captured, but it happened immediatly after Algore endorsed him.

4 things did him in in rapid succession.

1) Algore's endorsement
2) His berating of an elderly gentleman at a campaign stop
3) Capture of Saddam
4) YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Good points, and I agree. I still submit however that in the true hearts of most liberals, Dean is still really their true favorite guy. This primary is 100% about brutal pragmatism. Drive around the D.C. area and you'd be hard-pressed to find a single John Kerry sign, yet Howard Dean signs still abound all over the place.
