Nobody said life in the military was easy. He should have known that when he signed on the dotted line.
They really should have a way out for poor folks like this.
I'm thinking, dishonorable discharge, public ridicule on base and a bill for all the training, background investigation and other things he received as a member of the military. No jail, just get the hell out.

Actually IF this guy is really a practising Quaker (Friends) then he had a way out. The US Supreme COurt has on numerouse occassion allowed for a reapplication of CO status even after being in the Army...From the looks of his picture he is a dope smoking vegan who wishes to rec apture those "glorios" days of the 60s...I am glad he's gone but as most cowards do he ran rather than accept the consequences of his actions

Actually I can do you one better. A guy in the Squadron I was in got out as a consciencous objector in 1982 on his second enlistment. In his favor he was a real he!! raiser then became a Jehovahs Witness. After that everyone that knew him stated that he didnt belong in the military any more, He never refused to do his job while the paper work was being done about 1 year, but did get out about 2 ½ years early.
