MARTA is a fairly relied upon source of transit down here. those without cars can use this, but the 80% still applies here too for some reason. tv is one thing. cable tv is a luxury. What if they buy books which are more expensive than TV? Should the welfare recepients be allowed to eat sweets?

::sigh:: you missed the point. the money they are getting they are wasting, which means two things. one, they get too much money, and two, they arent being held responsible. a book can be a luxury, so can candy. but cable tv IS a luxury. and the car thing is right out for the simple fact that they also have cable tv. you want me to give them cell phones so they can keep up?
no, the entire thing is that our governement is wasting money on the poor (and the wealthy in some cases)
which leads to what i said earlier about the US having the only fat poor people in the world.
and about books, show me someone on welfare with a decent library and ill think about giving a response.
