When they aren't providing these opprotunities however, then they lose my sympathy. Because the only reason I should care about Bill Gates being wealthy is because he is providing jobs & helping people. Likewise, the only reason Gates should care about me is because I might have skills that can help him become richer. It's completely fair and it's mutually beneficial, provided both sides bring something to the table.

Free traders want the impossible - they want society to nourish and protect them without giving anything in return.

Yes.

And I see no reason at all to support that.

"free trade" = global government, loss of sovereignty and economic harmonization with other countries, especially if they are needy of US taxpayer dollars.

While everyone is arguing about outsourcing, meetings are quietly held to push along the FTAA, which is due to be impelented in January 2005.

The FTAA, Free Trade Area of the Americas impact on American citizens will dwarf the impact of outsourcing on the American citizen.

The Treaty of Maastricht created the EU in 1992 as an economic zone or free trade area.

Then in 1999 the African Union was created.

We also got ASEAN, the Association of South East Asian Nations about that time.

The fall of the Soviet Union generated a reformation of itself in the CIS or Council of Independent States, another 'free trade region'.

The only region left that isn't quite under the belt of the free traders is the middle east. However there is an organization formed that will become the regional government for the middle east called the OIC, the Organization of the Islamic council.

What do all these groups have in common?

They are predicted in the UN document called "Our Global Neighborhood". Each and every one, including the "free trade area" the United States will be forced to belong to" has the language in its charter--that the organizations are organized "within the framework of the United Nations" and that they only follow international law (bye bye Constitution, it was nice knowing you.)

Each and every one of these organizations has exactly the same structure, a president, a parliment, a permanent council, an observers council, and a secretariat (there is an amazing uniformity of government here for such a diverse group, is there not?)

Each and every one of these organizations is founded on the principles of "peace, justice and solidarity"... which sounds awfully marxist to me

Lets talk about the FTAA and its relationship to outsourcing.

First there was the Pan American Union. It was transformed into the Organization of the American States by the Council of the Americas, a so called business organization that has called all the shots on NAFTA and the FTAA. They pretty much direct the OAS on what to do.

The OAS in its charter, says that in order for a peaceful association of nations to occur, that there must be harmonization of the nations. Where have we heard that before? Downward harmonization, the race to the bottom, whatever, are the result of the massive outsourcing of American jobs and manufacturing. I believe that outsourcing is encouraged by our federal government as a way of accomplishing this harmonization so that the FTAA will come into being in January 2005.

The OAS is acting very much like the federal government its supposed to be right now. If you read the charter, it has franken privileges in every member state, says that International law is the standard of conduct of States in their reciprocal relations (not the US Constitution for the United States), it says The elimination of extreme poverty is an essential part of the promotion and consolidation of representative democracy and is the common and shared responsibility of the American States, hence the migration pact (the illegal alien amensty act), transfer of social security funds to illegal aliens who leave the US, the MIllenium challenge account announced in Monterrey Mexico in 2001 which will give away $5 billion in foreign aid by next year.

Then don't forget their final statement in article 3-- Social justice and social security are bases of lasting peace. Social justice which is the antithesis of America's founding, equal justice.
