I keep hearing rumors about how Ketchup Boy wrote up his own recomendation for the silver star because his CO or other officer was not there to witness his "heroics'. I also keep hearing how his three purple hearts were for "minor wounds".

Any freepers out there who can verify this?

The ultimate in straddling both sides of every issue is Kerry's own characterization of himself as a war criminal ["I committed atrocties" From 1971 tape of Kerry played on Tim Russert] and a war hero, as he frequently reminds everyone in what he hopes will be taken as unplanned asides.

Amen. He got a Silver Star for leaving his command post on the boat and going ashore to execute a wounded enemy soldier and returning with said dead soldier's equipment.
In the army, we didn't kill wounded enemy soldiers, we treated them as we would our own.
