Great story, however Golden Retriever's are so damn nuts and high strung I suspect the mountain lion figured he had rabies and just didn't want to catch anything!! ;-)

Our Goldens have never been nervous or high strung. We have 3 rescued retrievers. They can be a bit hyper if not well exercised until they reach about 2 to 2 1/2. We belong to the local Golden Retriever Rescue and obviously absolutely love the breed. They were bred for companionship and have the best personalities are are smart dogs.

We've had two and have friends with several others. Our first Golden saved our then 4YO daughter from drowning in the pool. The one we have now would protect us at all costs.

Even so, these dogs are so laid back, it's funny.

If you call that nuts, well that's your opinion.
