Edwards will not likely be the VP candidate.

1. Clinton does not want him as #2... traditionally, the #2 person on a losing ticket becomes the heir apparent four years later... that is why the Clintons want a loser like Clark as #2.

2. Edwards has proven that he cannot carry water in the South -- therefore he is of no asset to the ticket... Kerry will choose Gephardt or Richardson instead -- targeting the midwest/southwest. The only VP candidate that scares me is John Breaux, who is rarely talked about.

3. It is not likely to have two senators on the ticket. We control the Senate and thus the legislative agenda, and therefore we can keep both senators tied up in DC (and off the campaign trail) for all of September if the RATS go down this lane.

Richardson is being saved as Hillary's 2008 VP.

That and combined with Edwards' phoniness....he blathers at these campaigns stops about how he was from a working class father and mother and they lived in a mill town (they moved when Edwards was 1 year old)...then he blasts and attacks Bush for being a special interest President who caters to the wealthy...what Edwards does not tell you is that he and his wife just bought not one...but TWO multi-million dollar homes in Washington, D.C. Edwards is a 2-bit phony.

Tell that to John Edwards; he missed 80 percent of the votes since October 2003.

Rush was asking a couple of very intersting questions today. He was asking something like that if we thought that Billy Jeff would tell Kerry, if he is the nominee to ask Hitlery to be his VP and if Kerry gets elected if he would finish his first term

"The only VP candidate that scares me is John Breaux, who is rarely talked about."

Kerry would never pick Breaux, since Breaux is pro-life and has a voting record far, far different from Kerry's (Breaux's bipartisanship and moderation would make Kerry look petty in comparison). And if Kerry did pick Breaux, I still think Bush would carry Louisiana, and Breaux wouldn't help Kerry in any other state.

Unless Bill Richardson changes his mind (Richardson has said on numerous ocassions that he won't run for VP this year), I think it will be Gephardt, although there's always Gov. Mark Warner of VA, Gov. Tom Vilsack of IA, Sen. Bill Nelson of FL and Gov. Gary Locke of WA.
