I think it is a mixed blessing if Breck Girl makes a race out of this. On the plus side, they get to beat up on each other. On the other hand, it shortens the period that the GOP gets to beat up on the candidate. Money wise, this is a big loser for Kerry, or Edwards, but I think in my gut, the President would prefer it to be over, so he could really start taking his shots at Kerry.

I don't think they will beat up on each other. They will keep attacking Bush all the time no matter want.

It is fun to see Kerry get smacked upside the landslide once in a while. I want him more heavily damaged by the time the conventions roll around!!

as an independent right-wing wacko malcontent unappeasable I want Bush to stop being so moderate, but I also want to see the freaks smashed up.

Yes, but that is good. The White House does not want an 8-month campaign if it can be avoided. The longer we can employ the Rose Garden strategy and stay above the fray, the better.

We want Kerry to limp to the nomination, battered and broke and politically cut to pieces. This is delicious.
