Personally, I think that you get some credit as long as you didn't run to Canada.

Great. Now all you have to do is get the Democrat attack dogs and their news media cheerleaders to see it your way.

Until they do, the Politically Correct mantra on ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN will be that Bush was an AWOL coward who flew F-102's to avoid Vietnam combat and Kerry was a courageous hero who volunteered for combat duty and did nothing to avoid combat.

...and Kerry was honorably discharged, which he said shaved six months from his commitment.

It was my understanding that Kerry joined the Naval Reserve,(probably a 2x6 program) and he was called to active service.

I was reading through items from Google searches yesterday, and a few timelines showed up. One showed the date of Kerry's discharge from the Navy was several years after 1970. I'll go back and look it up.

" how would you know what my type is.....

Your posts, your home page, and the attack you are making on a VietNam veterans service in VietNam when you were not there yourself clearly identify you to me.

Are you suggesting that the information you have publicly provided about yourself is somehow untrue? If so that would put you in another type.

Bye.

Your implication is that your ketchup boy volunteered for the "deadliest missions deep in the jungle", which he did not, and that PRESIDENT(snic)Bush had a cushy desk assignment.

You're really paranoid. I was giving an example of extreme assignments only. Notice I said "jungle" where Kerry wasn't and "Army National Guard" where Bush wasn't. Both of them were somewhere within the extremes, and both received honorable discharges, so therefore their honorable service shouldn't be questioned. Who cares if the injuries were minor. He served in wartime. Bush served in wartime. Did you?

"Like JFK should have for being the only PT skipper to have his boat run over by a destroyer in WWII."

LOL... Those darn Kennedy boys and their boating/flying/vehicle accidents.

The four months refers to the swift boat.

There appears to be some conflicting information from two sites:

http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnkerry.com/page2.html and swiftboats.net.

The VVAK site says Kerry spent less than four months in-country and served aboard two Swift boats--#44 (Dec 68 - Jan 69) and #94 (late Jan - March). Each Swift boat has a crew of 6 including the CO.

The swift boat site indicates that Kerry was OinC of PCF 66 from 10/68 to 4/69. I also find it interesting that on that same boat, PCF 66, a William B. Hoole Jr, LT, is listed as OinC during the period 4/68-4/69. Something is screwy here. I haven't read the Brinkley book, but maybe that can shed some light as to what boat Kerry claims to have been on.

With this conflicting info, all the more reason for Kerry to make his military records available. I was laboring under the apparent misconception that Kerry served in-country less than 4 months, but he may have served in country for six months.

Kerry's official bio lists his military service as 1966-70 active and 1972-78 in the US Navy Reserve. This raises some questions about what his status was after his discharge in Jan 1970 until 1972. This "gap" coincides with his anti-war activities. I would like to know if he was in the active reserves 1972-78. Ten years total service time, active and reserve sounds odd.

Thanks. Obviously he is going to have to release all his records. I took those boat numbers and only found him listed on one, PCF 66. None of those boats were ever assigned to the zone that patroled the Mekong Delta from what I can see. Granted this is incomplete information so with nothing to hide I'm sure Sen. Ketchup will release all the records soon.
