How many people do you think are watching Fox and CNN during a work day? Not many. So the only impression the vast majority of people will get from this speech is from the press. And what do you think they are going to with it? Bring up the "Bush was AWOL" stuff and give the impression that Bush is trying to "overcome" a negative.

I think you'd be surprised to find out how many people watch the news during the workday. Every airport, most waiting rooms and millions of businesses and homes have one of the news channels on all day long. Nobody cares about the phony AWOL thing. Really. Even the democrats now realize that. But today millions of people watched Bush give a command Presidential performance in front of hundreds of cheering troops. In contrast, they'll see Kerry spitting silly soundbites.
