Maybe that's why LE contacted her, maybe MG questioned why they didn't. But why ask her her whereabouts on Dec. 31? I'm searching my mind for a connection.

Hmmm, perhaps there were break-in attempts at either the Covena house or at the Rochas? Everyone knew the occupants would be at the candlelight vigil. Just a guess.
