How does it make China dangerous? I think they it makes them safer--- those old guys aren't going to fight. Ironically countries like Mexico with it's high birth rate isn't doing well economically and when you see the growing number of street children in it's large cities, that seems dangerous.

Desperate countries do desperate things. If the leadership knows they will run out of workers, the temptation to go "find" some increases. They have a limited time frame till, as you say, they run out of men the right age to fight.

You don't think 30 million young bachelors with no wifes to care for won't cause significant social unrest? Men with little to lose are often spoiling for a fight. Granted, in the Chinese situation a little social unrest might be good in the long run. But what if these bachelors go into the army?
