Kerry is an arse and elitist arse, it has already been established. But Bush has a liberal elitist slant to him hence the last few policies he has enacted. Attack the policies not me I am not for amnesty and free drugs to old folks.

Race is never an issue Bawhhhhha. LOL you made me laugh there. I have seen people say no to AA and no to scholarships based on minority status to turn around and support people making White Scholarships, don't give me that crap. We have a major case of people here claiming to be Republicans but are really Southern Democrats, it is showing in the policies being enacted in Washington. If race weren't an issue we wouldn't have so many posts asking why blacks don't vote more conservatively, we wouldn't make fun of Kwanzaa around Christmas, we wouldn't do a whole assortment of things. I am well aware of it so why aren't you. I am not angered by it as this is true to all groups who are homogeneous in nature.

UH people who make anywhere from 50 to 70 grand a year do pay taxes. Not a whole lot. In that tax range most itemize deductions and have 4 or more dependents. With the child tax credit plus itemized deductions federal taxes are VERY low.
To: Afro_conservative
I think your cover is slipping.
To: Afro_conservative
You're the one who keeps bringing race into the discussion; I just thought I'd help you out a bit.
Here's a wee history lesson for you. Prior to the Civil Rights Act, when I was in Boarding School, no, not Exeter and not St.Paul's ( they were both all boys back then and I wasn't a boy !), but a comparable one, there were blacks there. There was NO affirmative Action. These girls were my friends, no one treated them any differently than anyone else, and that was the norm!
Yes, people discriminate; ALL people do and it's NOT just down racial lines.
Just because someone is born into a prominent family, doesn't guarantee that they will succeed. Some do and some don't. Yes, they have it easier than others, to some degree or other. But people are different and YOU have chosen to post some really silly PC stereotyping junk.

I have no chip on my shoulder I am pointing out the sameness in their up bringing. What is the point of trying to refute the obvious. I am not saying he is a bad man, in fact I would like to sit and drink a cold one with him if I could. You seem like the type of person who has a 10ft. blow up picture of him on your wall for worshiping. I am just a citizen making an honest assessment of a politician. I am not your enemy, the government is. Also no one said the Bush family elected him to office. I think you are lost from another thread. sort of like when the Vietnam Vets came back and had recollections of fighting in war. Wake UP!! Wake up!!!! Different Thread!!!!
To: Afro_conservative
And those people get the breaks, when it comes to scholarships and a whole lot of other things as well. They also pay far less taxes. Yes, dear, YOU should really get the facts straight and stop sounding like a bleeding heart LIBERAL.
To: Afro_conservative
Talk to me AFTER you get out of school.
And, FYI, you come off as both an elitist and some PCed liberal, for all of your protestations of denial.
To: Afro_conservative
You seem like the type of person who has a 10ft. blow up picture of him on your wall for worshiping Your cover is now completly blown. Look you are not a conservative; you are just another guy/gal with a big chip on your shoulder. You are just another "victim".
To: Afro_conservative
You don't understand why we make fun of Kwanzaa. It has NOTHING at all to do with race. It has EVERYTHING to do with who started it, when it was started, and WHAT it is!
To: Texasforever
It sure is and then some!
To: Afro_conservative
When I grew up the word egalitarian meant you believed in the equality of all people, and your actions reflected your beliefs. It was the opposite of believing that "some pigs are more equal than others."
It wasn't a word that connoted concomitant belief in socialism or communism.
And Yeshua the Christ is not a "person" to me; He is God.
To: nopardons
Just because someone is born into a prominent family, doesn't guarantee that they will succeed In GW's case he had to OVERCOME the family name with "conservatives" to win the election.
To: Texasforever
Yes, exactly and I could give more such examples.
To: kattracks
Over at Time magazine, Joe Klein complains bitterly that the president once told Sen. Joseph Biden, "I don't do nuance." But, whines Klein, "the struggle against Islamic radicalism is a festival of nuance. It is not quite a war, and it doesn't yield easily to simple notions of good and evil, friend and foe." I predict "nuance" will become this campaign's "gravitas." It's the libs' way of explaining Kerry's flip-flops, without calling them lies (they save the L word for Bush only.)
To: nopardons
I didn't say discrimination is down only racial lines. Why do people keep adding stuff that wasn't stated or rebuked in the initial argument. What is going on here stick to what is being argued, this is simple debate philosophy(don't go on tangents).
You being in your boarding school is great before the civil rights period and there was no AA. I wish it where like that today but you see a lot of people tend to think that all blacks are on AA and don't belong hence the joking and stuff that I used to hear while attending my classes. I don't resent them, as this is the making of 30 years of liberal crappy policies and now my generation has to reap what was sowed by those nuts in the 70's
As far as being PC, the last paragraph you stated is total PC garbage. If you are born into a prominent family and you have the means to succeed and you don't you are loser plain and simple. We have people trying to come over the border dying in the desert just to get on welfare here!!!! and you want to tell me that if you are born affluent it is ok if you don't succeed when given the tools.
This is so Liberal I don't even want to talk about it any more this is just like those who say blacks born in middle class families that if you fail it is ok because the "man" and society are to blame and that they are after you.

Trinity father, son and holy spirit don't forget. God Bless you though
To: Texasforever
lol I am a victim lol. I am very successful I feel sometimes like I am a victimizer because my life has been so great. God has blessed me with the ability to see through garbage and speak my mind I am not stuck in being a Republican because I am a Conservative before a Republican. That is why my policies stay the same. LOL I have a chip on my shoulder, come on I haven't attacked you and you attack me because you disagree lol come on.
To: Afro_conservative
I am very successful So you have told us. Over and over and over. I believe you but you keep brining up Kwanza. I wonder why? Who were you prior to Feb 8 2004?
To: Afro_conservative
Lately it's on my mind daily.
P.S. Despite the arguments about your posts here, I think your heart is in the right place.
I remember posting a thread calling for people to write messages for soldiers overseas during the holiday season and mentioned Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Boy, did I get flack about Kwanzaa.
I don't see why a thread asking to support our soldiers should be used to bash another issue. But I was also bashed when I asked for support for care packages to Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo in the summer before 9/11. Got an earful about a war that I, too, had reservations about, but why punish the soldiers?
And those soldiers from the 101st and 82nd that we sent care packages to in Kosovo ended up in Afghanistan and then Iraq. I was really glad some of us saw beyond the political axes to give cheer to those soldiers before they faced death and maiming.
