I caught that on FOX news about an hour ago. Personally I'm not too concerned about what comes thru our regulated border crossings. It's what passes unnoticed in unregulated crossings.

Why would anyone IMPORT explosives into BC?
Why would anyone smuggle ANYTHING into BC?
Occupants must have been rather wierd to trigger a search.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,111574,00.html BLAINE, Wash. The biggest northern border crossing west of Detroit was closed Monday after Canadian guards found explosives in a car entering the country from the United States, Canadian customs officials said.
They did not specify what type of explosives was found.
A Canadian customs spokeswoman, Paula Shore, told Northwest Cable News the vehicle tried to cross into Canada from the United States at the Peace Arch border crossing (search). She gave no further details; neither she nor customs spokeswoman Faith St. John immediately returned calls seeking comment.
Mike Milne, a Seattle-based spokesman for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (search), confirmed the border crossing at Blaine had been shut down in both directions after the car was stopped at 1 p.m., but he declined to comment on what the Canadian guards may have found.
A Royal Canadian Mounted Police (search) official told Fox News a grenade was found.
Traffic was routed a few miles east to Pacific Highway, which has a border crossing typically used by commercial trucks.
About 8 million vehicles cross at Blaine, the northern end of Interstate 5, every year

Does it say which border crossing? I'm 20 miles from the big one in Vermont. It's the one at Blaine, Washington -- where I-5 goes up into Canada, south of Vancouver.
