Not inconceivable. And the so-called videotape might be a fabrication, as well. Indeed, it is conceivable that this entire affair has been concocted in order to be disproven and, therefore, innoculate Kerry against future charges of sexual adventurism.
On the other hand...
After the father's calling Kerry a "sleazeball" who hit on his daughter, the last sentence of the parents' statement seems clashingly incongruous -- not to mention gratuitous.
"We appreciate the way Senator Kerry has handled the situation, and intend on voting for him for president of the United States."
Really? We're going to vote for the sleazeball who hit on our daughter?
Irrespective of their political views why say it? It wasn't necessary. It's gratuitous -- like a coded message embedded in the statement of a hostage...
The quote of the parents - We appreciate how Senator Kerry has handled this. If there was no truth to it, how else would he have handled it?? Sounds odd. Like they are just glad he didn't cast aspersions on their daughter.
