Name all of your college professors your freshman year of college....

This situation is even better, though. It's more like "we're going to ask all of those professors if they remember you. If not, you must be lying about haviong gone to college."

It's easy enough when you reveal that you have Alzheimer's.

His having Alzheimers has nothing to do with what the press has done to distort what this man has said.

First he said that he couldn't remember seeing Bush, and they twisted his words to make the accusation from that that Bush wasn't there.

Now Turnipseed has said that he didn't mean what the press said he meant, and they are weasling out of it by saying he 'recanted.'

He hasn't taken back what he said (recanted). He has clarified the fact that he couldn't remember.

BIG difference.

By using the word 'recant' the press is putting the blame on him, instead of on themselves, and their own distortion of his words in 2000.

IMO, they are despicable.

What amazes me about this whole story is that anyone who has ever worn a uniform knows how screwed up the paperwork is, always was, and probably always will be.

Forms get lost, clerks are sloppy, records are misfiled, and it all happens with such overwhelming regularity that only the massive redundancy of the active systems keeps the whole mess functioning in a reasonably forward direction. And that's in the active services.

National Guard units? I would shudder to even think about what a mess their files must be after 30 years.
