Larry Krebs, 81, one of Washington's last old-school gumshoe newshounds who was perhaps best known for being the only cameraman at the Tidal Basin the night a powerful congressman and a striptease artist landed in hot water, died Feb. 11 at Sibley Memorial Hospital of complications after a stroke. He was a Washington resident.
[snip]
One of the most infamous stories he broke was the 1974 Tidal Basin scandal, in which an intoxicated Rep. Wilbur D. Mills (D-Ark.), driving his Lincoln Continental, was pulled over by a U.S. Park Police officer. An exotic dancer named Fanne Foxe jumped out of the congressman's car and jumped into the Tidal Basin.

Since the Kerry intern story is floating around the net, I thought it was interesting that another cheating Democrat, Wilbur Mills, was caught with the "Tidal Basin Bombshell" by this reporter who died the other day.

I know. They must have just started doing that. Anyway, I excerpted the relevant parts -- cheating Democrat, stripper, alcohol, driving.

Those of us who prefer not to register just have to guess what the rest of the article says. But it's pretty predictable. Once you know what the party line is and read the first few sentences, articles at the NY Slimes and the Washington ComPost pretty much write themselves.
In fact they could save themselves a ton of money by having a software guy write them a program similar to the Postmodernist Generator. Then reporters would only have to write the first two or three sentences, and the rest of the articles would write themselves--plus there would be absolutely no risk of violating the editors' ideological guidelines, so the editors could save themselves a ton of time too.
The Postmodernist Generator:

Fanne Foxe, the "Argentine Firecracker." Worked as a stripper at the Silver Slipper on 13th street.
