Will somebody explain to me again what is relevant about what anyone did in the 1970s with regard to a presidential campaign 30 years later?

G.W. Bush has a record of six years as governor and three years as President. Kerry has a record of more than a decade in the U.S. Senate. Does anyone care to debate THOSE?
They are not running for General. They are running for a political office and both have an established history in politics which OUGHT to be the focus of the campaign.

It proves how shallow and baseless both camps are when they have to resort to things that happened 30 years ago when both were young and foolish.

Geez Louise! Usually I'm not fed up with a political campaign until summer. It's not even March and I'm already sick and tired of this campaign. Can somebody just fast-forward my life to next December - PLEASE??

With an attitude like yours, you might be surprised or will it be glad about who is president next December?

Tell us who you support!

"Character" for starters.

You can do it yourself. Just take a break from FreeRepublic until after the election. If it troubles you so, perhaps an island vacation would be a good remedy.

Kerry continued to be pro-Vietnamese while in the Senate.

See this thread on Kerry's ordering that documents on the investigation into the POW's and MIA's in Vietnam, in 1991:

From the last link:

"“Senator Kerry,” Nguyen continues, “was caught on camera making a promise to the North Vietnamese communists that he would ensure that they weren’t embarrassed by their concocted stories.”""

It is very relevant that John Kerry testified before congress that ALL veterans of Vietnam were guilty of war crimes, including himself, especially since he could not have been witness to anything other than what his own small swift boat crew had done. It is also relevant that Kerry made statements that he did not think that the US military should ever be deployed other than under the direction of the UN. He refuses to recant his statements. Do you want a president who subjugates the US armed forces to the UN?
