Hillary knows that she cannot win in 04. She will not win a single southern state, so the Electoral College will go to Bush even if she gets the popular vote. If she gets in as VEEP, she can work to change the law, while working to get Rat Poison into Edwards' cornflakes.

Senators who run for President ALWAYS get a smaller % of the vote as a Presidential candidate than in their last Senate race (54% for hillary).

Never Forget...
--Campaign Finance Reform Act - makes it illegal to air Campaign Ads against Hillary in the last 60 days before the election.
--Electronic Voting - thanks to the Democrat-Led Chad Revolt in 2000 - election results vulnerable to hacking.
--Media fawning at her every word, and cooing over every new hairstyle and at every pre-staged photo-op.
--Terrorist Attacks AKA 9-11 to topple confidence in President Bush.
-- Hillary's been a busy-bee setting everything up "just right."

I thoroughly agree that Hilary will not win one Southern state. The American public has had their fill of the Clintons, and down here in the South there is a special animus for them.
I've worked in several Federal campaigns here, and I really believe that the right atmosphere does not exist for a Hilary end-run. I can almost say that it will not ever be right for their shenanigans; the Churches are still strong, and the hunting class is solid. I could be wrong, but I think not.
