[history]
Nobody wants to raise this puzzling but important question.
The single most puzzling -- and arguably most important -- question of the day is the one no one raises in public: Why have we not been attacked again?
We are coming up on two and a half years since Sept. 11. Think back: On Sept. 11, everybody was waiting for the other shoe to drop -- within days or weeks, but surely within months. When nothing happened, it was said that al-Qaida works on 18-month cycles, with long planning and preparation.

It's really difficult isn't it.
I mean something has to be wrong doesn't it.
Would you fault Churchill for Coventry??????
To: Burkeman1
Didn't Kaye say it was worse than first thought and the war was more necessary than thought?
To: Between the Lines
Though I suspect Ashcroft's roundup immediately following the attack may have saved lives, as did the operations in Afghanistan, isn't it a little short-sighted to think that our enemies work in months or years, when the evidence shows they have a longer-term view of the conflict we're in? Bin-Laden is still upset about the Crusades, after all.

As a person calling others liars you should know at least a little history.
To: Burkeman1
I guess the parents, spouses, relatives, and friends of the Americans fallen in Iraq should also not want an answer? You dishonor thier memory when you use their greiving families as your political toy. A shameful (and usually a Democratic) act.
To: Burkeman1
You need to crawl out more.
Your hate has you so blind argueing with you is not even a sport
To: chuckwalla
And who made you pee your pants over Iraq? Did you think your family threatened by Iraq?

Never peed my pants because I'm not full of hate.
Yes the terrorists want all of us dead, even you.
Iraq was aiding them. That's enough.
To: Between the Lines
And you don't when you say "to pull out now would discrace the sacrifices of those who died?" How long did we have to listen to that drivel?

Unfortunately, we must think in views of four and eight years terms. Our entire policy could change in any longer period.
To: chuckwalla
Sir- You know what? We have nothing to discuss. You believe anything your are told and trust your government and worship it.
Sorry, That is not me. I don't think we can even talk on the same level. But I respect you. Good luck.

And Iraq threated America or even Britain how again?Terrorist training camps, chem/bio warfare labs, paying off terrorists, paying off anyone who would propogate for them, harboring terrorists.
Just because the SOB layed off of a few things while the heat was on doesn't mean he had forsaken his dreams. He was squashed like the bug he was. That's a good thing for you and the rest of us.
