[history]
Nobody wants to raise this puzzling but important question.
The single most puzzling -- and arguably most important -- question of the day is the one no one raises in public: Why have we not been attacked again?
We are coming up on two and a half years since Sept. 11. Think back: On Sept. 11, everybody was waiting for the other shoe to drop -- within days or weeks, but surely within months. When nothing happened, it was said that al-Qaida works on 18-month cycles, with long planning and preparation.

Some of us right here on this board have family members over in Iraq at this moment. Are you suggesting that our relatives are all dupes?
To: Texasforever
Yeah, and leave it to the brave people to keep his sorry ingrate butt free.
To: Texasforever
Oh- sweetie? You hurt my feelings? Why don't you stick to "liberal media hates us" and "pro war media is not pro war enough threads" and let the adults and real conservatives talk 0k?
To: Burkeman1
Naw, were ALL going to stick around right here and have fun with you, leftist.

We have been attacked again--anthrax letters, LAX shooting, ELF arson, DC sniper, numerous overseas attacks, etc., plus dozens of suspicious incidents which may have been terrorism or may not--but fortunately our intelligence community and law enforcement agencies have done a good job of minimizing these incidents.

I do as well- a cousin- an LT in the Marines. I think he is in Mosul last I heard. Whom do you know?
I hope he musters out soon for as my Aunt tells me he hates it. Then again that is the sort of talk with all in my family who have "served". This dumb kid was the first to volunteer!

Then again that is the sort of talk with all in my family who have "served". This dumb kid was the first to volunteer! My brother is in the Army Reserves. He's 41 years old and volunteered to give up a year of his life to go to Baghdad. As he put it, it's an inconvenience, but a few thousand people had a bit more than an inconvenience when they had the choice of burning to death on 9/11, or jumping out the windows. I expect him to come back in a year safe and sound, but if he doesn't, I sure as heck won't blame Bush for it, or say that he gave his life in vain. He believes that what we are doing in Iraq is just, and so do I.
To: Burkeman1
Go whatever sir. I don't care what you think. Yeah but I will continue telling you what I think. I can be a persistent SOB when someone like you gets my attention.
To: Defender2
Want to go 9/11? A little personal.
And 9/11 has nothing to do with Bush or Iraq. And Bush never claimed as much.
