I did a Google Search for Alex Polier. She has done a lot of articles as an AP writer. Mostly, her specialty seems to be about domestic do-gooders who try to help people. The impression I get is an idealistic and caring young woman, still a leftist but genuinely interested in helping people out and decent according to her own lights.

Sounds like the perfect bimbo for the lecherous old fart to prey upon, his pocket full of his wife's money. Guys the age of Kerry (and me) learned back in college that you could charm the pants off of idealistic bimbo hippie chicks (liberal girls) with a good line about caring for people and helping people, yadayada...
