United States sets Iran March deadline
Deutsche Welle - World News
Feb 14, 2004
The United States has given Iran a deadline to end its nuclear weapons programme. The US State Department said Iran has until a March meeting of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency to comply with promises made late last year.
If Iran is then found not to be in compliance, the United States could urge that the IAEA board refer the matter to the UN Security Council for possible sanctions or other options.
The United States accuses Iran of continuing to hide information on weapons from the IAEA.

Right. I'll believe this when more reputable American press picks up the story rather than some German newsline...

Uh oh...
Waiting for the moron brigade to show up and repeat the mindless mantra...
"If we have nuclear weapons, anybody has the same right to have them". D'OH!
I just wish those idiots would go live in any muslim country for a year and come back and repeat that
... if they live that long!

I place my vote for other options.

I agree. This is good news (relatively speaking, since this nuke thing itself is really an ugly situation).
Nuclear proliferation is an issue that is on the radar screen, but not too many ordinary people seem to be watching it. I do think, however, that this is going to be a major issue in the coming months.
I really should back up and emphasize that this is far, far more than simply a political issue. As hopeful as I am about the ultimate outcome, it is nevertheless an extremely dangerous time.

Iran is so very close to having nuclear weaponos. It's vital that something be done soon.
Agree, it isn't on many people's radar screen, (yet), but it "is going to be a major issue in the coming months."

The mullahs need to be MOAB'd.
They are sponsors of terrorism, and it is time we handed them their rear ends on a platter.
Then the long-suffering Iranian people, who are pro US for the most part, can be free.
If Carter had balls in 1979, we wouldn't be playing cat and mouse with these terrorists now.

This is a very significant pre-emptive move.
El-Baradei isn't secheduled to give his report on Iran's nucs until next week.
