I pulled my daughter to homeschool because they wanted to label her ADD. . . . She could not perform with the chaos in her classrooms."

Same reason I took my son out of a private school -- over half the boys at the schools were on some form of medication at the insistence of the teachers.

The final straw was a teacher telling me, "He reads too much." He was reading because he was bored! It was the beginning of the end when I asked her, "How is this a problem?"

OH man!!
I had her kindergarten teacher start the bs. This poor lady (a wonderful person BTW) had 19 kids and 9 were problems. We worked together to come to an agreement that my daughter would finish her work at home.
Going to 1st grade was the problem. She began ok then as the children got more comfortable, they got louder. I asked this teacher to seat my daughter at the back of the class so she would have distractions only from the front. The woman never quite remembered that. When my daughter began slacking, she began to call her "Pokie". I ask this teacher continually, "How can we work together to get her to finish the work?" The teacher's solution was detention. I knew this would not work with my daughter because she is very adaptable. So what if she has to stay in school, she would feel that she was doing very well completing the work in a quiet enviroment. I told the teacher to try it and my daughter proved me right.
At the six week parent conference, the teacher told me how well my daughter was doing (tested 4th grade on the standardized tests) but she was having problems completing work.
I again asked what we could do and this woman looked me in the eye and said, "I don't know."
I went home and evaluated the situation. All of her friends had left the school the year before because of administrative attitudes. She was left with all the stuck up snots. She walked around the playground and played with puddles. Socialization was not a factor.
I took Christmas vacation to see if she would learn from me. By the grace of God and some great FReepers who helped convince my hubby, she is now happy, mommy is happy, little sister is happy and she socializes with some of the nicest homeschooled children in the area!!
