Malaysia is a ticking time bomb. The muslims are about 45% of the population, but the Chinese and Indians are the productive center of the economy. Malays get massive affirmative action. Many jobs are reserved exclusively for them, they get tax breaks and welfare. Everyone repeats this mantra "we are a multicultural society" like a charm warding off evil. But the Islamists are at work and trying hard to turn the multicutltural society into muslim one. The Chinese are restive at the affirmative action programs and unhappy with increasing Saudization of their homeland.

I give them 10 years tops before violence. China may very well intervene if the Chinese heritage citizens are harrassed as they have been in the past.

This kind of reminds me of the Christian fundamentalists who preach against celebrating pagan Christmas and Halloween.
