If homosexuality is not a choice, but a genetic thing, then wouldn't gays and lesbians want science to find a cure for it? I haven't heard a one of them being activists for more research except to spout off arrogantly that if it is genetic, tough, the rest of the country has to tolerate, accept, yes even celebrate them.
And if it isn't a choice, why are there so many who thumb their noses at safe sex. Why do so many have so many sex partners a year? I may be born an alcoholic, but it's still my responsibility to avoid alchohol so as not to harm myself and others. Same goes for gays.
