If you are indeed a Vietname era vet, then you grew up with nukes pointed at you for your entire life. Dispite your overblown rhetoric, and even if a dirty bomb goes off somewhere, you are far safer than any generation that ever lived. There are nations that, in our lifetime, have lost more that ten percent of their populations to war and political murder. Twenty-five percent in some cases.

You really don't get it, do you. First, a suitcase nuke is not a dirty bomb. It is a nuclear bomb capable of massive destructive, as well as fallout. Some "suitcase" nukes are much larger than briefcases -- as large as two footlockers. The Soviets made hundreds, if not thousands of them, and accountability has been poor. Second, a release of a contagious biological in major population centers has the potential to kill millions due to the difficulty in detection and the incubation period. VX gas is another matter altogether. That stuff is so deadly no one but a total maniac would use it for fear the wind would change direction. Members of the Islamic cult, however, are total maniacs.

I admit the 1950s were pretty scary times, and I did not feel reasonably safe from Russian Nukes until after the Cuban Missle Crisis when I realized the Russians were not total maniacs. Members of the Islamic cult, however, are total maniacs.
