Do you secretly desire that President Bush lose this election?
The Bush Amnesty will already cost more votes than it gains, and the damage will only increase as long as it is pursued.
I found this quote on your homepage:
Now that's what I've been saying all along. Some people are fighting the wrong battle here. Eliminate the welfare state and a huge percentage of your illegal alien problem goes away. -- Jim Robinson
Here are two more quotes:
I opposed Proposition 187 in California. When Social Security reform ended federal food assistance to immigrant seniors, I was the only governor in the country to cover the cost.
October 20 - October 26 AsianWeek.com
"I was against the spirit of . . . [Proposition 187] for my state," Bush said of the 1994 California measure. "I felt like every child ought to be educated, regardless of the status of their parents."
Dallas Morning News, 6/30/99, p. 23A.
Link to both George W. Bush quotes on Proposition #187
Bush misrepresents the "spirit" of 187 here, since children weren't going to be kept out of taxpayer-funded schools for the status of their parents, but for their own. That is, children who themselves were Illegal would not be entitled to public education in California.
Californians tried to end handouts for Illegals, and George W. Bush opposed us. Now he wants to legalize millions of Illegals, who according to you and the owner of this site wouldn't be here but for the welfare benefits George W. Bush insists they should get.
Illegals aren't the only issue for me this November, which is why I'm voting for the President. Doesn't matter what I think, however, because the Bush Amnesty and his overall record on Illegals will cost GOP votes, endanger his reelection, and cost us opportunities in the House and Senate.
In advocating for the Bush Amnesty, you are doing harm to the Republican Party, not to mention the country.
